About me and when I first began to get interested in genealogy

I was born in 1939; and I am married to Oskar Reule, who’s mother came from Kloestitz. Since my early school-years, I was interested in history. My interest in genealogy has developed from small beginnings. Around the year 1978, I had  accompanied one of my husband's aunts to a meeting of the "Germans from Bessarabia" in Hannover, Germany. Since then, I have begun to develop an interest in genealogy: I wanted to find out from where the settlers originally came, who had settled so far away from their place of birth in Germany. At that time, I didn’t know what dimension my interest in genealogy would reach in the future.

My main focus of interest: the village of Klöstitz, Bessarabia

I started to develop a special interest in Kloestitz because my husband's mother was born in this village; and for that reason, my main activities in genealogy center around Kloestitz. Since 1995, I am village coodinator of the Germans from Russia Heritage Society in Bismarck, North Dakota, USA, for the villages of Borodino and Klöstitz. In the course of my research, I have compiled a big amount of data in a database, concerning Kloestitz settlers, their ancestors, and descendants that I like to make public via the net. So please click on Genealogic Data to search for your ancestors in my Kloestitz-Database, which comprises about 15,000 persons.
